On August 9th the head of Federal Road Agengy of Russian Federation Roman Starovoit held a meeting with the Governor of Novosibirsk region Vladimir Gorodetsky on the area of building of Novosibirsk Eastern byway. They discussed perspectives of this largest object on the federal West Siberian road network and the possible federal financing of regional projects.
The project of Eastern Novosibirsk byroad is implemented since October 2013 by “Sibupravtodor” that is subsidiary of Federal Road Agency. Now the first stage of this project is in progress. The overpass, underpass and the bridge over Inya River are scheduled to be opened to traffic in 2017.
The section of future Eastern byroad is projected by 1st category: the width of the road is 25,5m; there are two traffic lanes in both directions. The financing of the first stage is 10,3billion rubles.
The total length of eastern bypass will be about 80km. New highway of 1st technical category will greatly decrease traffic load of federal motorway R-256 “Chuysky Tract” on the entrance to Novosibirsk and will lead to the highway R-255 “Siberia”.
During the meeting on the building site the pre-term beginning of the second stage of the project was discussed. “We realize how important for the region the Eastern byroad is, so we will make all possible efforts to include the second stage of the building in the Federal Address Investment Program 2016” – Roman Starovoit said.
